Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Service

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an imaging technique developed for ophthalmic applications that produces high-resolution cross-sectional images. By leveraging Creative BioMart Biomarker's cutting-edge OCT technology and services, our clients can unlock new insights into various diseases and improve patient care by identifying reliable biomarkers.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

OCT uses the principle of interferometry to generate detailed, real-time images of tissue microstructure. It uses superluminescent light-emitting diodes or ultrashort pulse lasers to emit low-coherence light to the tissue to be inspected and the rear-view beam, records the time delay of the tissue-reflected light through an interferometer, and uses a rear-view mirror to reflect the light. Then it is converted into a graphic with a resolution of up to 10-20 μm, and it can be reconstructed in three dimensions.

Application of OCT in Biomarker Analysis

OCT has shown promise in identifying and assessing biomarkers for a range of diseases. Its non-invasiveness, high resolution, and ability to capture real-time images make it an attractive modality for biomarker discovery and monitoring. OCT has been used to identify retinal features associated with neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases. In lysosomal storage diseases, OCT has been helpful in monitoring retinal degeneration and disease progression.
