hsCRP Detection Service

CRP is a non-specific marker of inflammation, while CRP plays a role in promoting atherosclerosis in a variety of cells. Studies have shown that CRP is not only an inducer of CVD, but its expression level can also be used as a marker of CVD. Creative BioMartBiomarker is capable to provide our customers with superior hs-CRP detection service, various detection methods ensuring high sensitivity for detecting biomarkers in different samples with different concentrations.

Introduction

The highly sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) was first discovered in 1930 by reaction with somatic C polysaccharides in patients with pneumococcal infection pneumonia, and its association with coronary heart disease was reported more than 60 years later. CRP is an acute phase reactant that is a non-specific marker of inflammation and is produced primarily in hepatocytes as a pentamer of the same subunit in response to a variety of cytokines. Interleukin (IL)-6 is one of the most powerful drivers of CRP release from activated leukocytes in response to infection or trauma, and from vascular smooth muscle cells in response to atherosclerosis. CRP directly binds to highly atherogenic oxidized low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and is present in apolipoprotein plaques. The mechanical role of CRP in plaque deposition is very complex, exerting an atherogenic effect in many cells involved in atherosclerosis. CRP may promote adhesion and m  igration of monocytes into the vessel wall, a crucial step in the early stages of atherosclerosis. In addition, CRP-catalyzed M1 macrophage polarization is a pro-inflammatory trigger for plaque deposition, leading to macrophage infiltration of adipose tissue and atherosclerotic lesions.
