E-selectin Detection Service

E-selectin is a membrane-bound adhesion molecule that can be rapidly induced and upregulated by inflammatory cytokines. It plays an important role in the inflammatory response. Therefore, E-selectin is often used in the research of inflammatory diseases. Creative BioMart Biomarker has service experience for many years, and can provide customers with sensitive and specific E-selectin testing service. Accurate and reliable results, short turnaround time and reasonable prices can effectively help customers shorten the research cycle and reduce research costs.

E-selectin

E-selectin, also known as endothelial-leukocyte adhesion molecule 1, CD62 antigen-like family member E, or leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion molecule 2, is a member of the selectin family. Selectin is a single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein that can be expressed on endothelial cells, leukocytes and platelets, and has similar properties to C-type lectins. The selectin family has similar domains, including C-type lectin domain, epidermal growth factor-like domain, short consensus repeats (the number of repeat units in E-selectin is 6), a transmembrane region and a cytoplasmic domain. Selectins can regulate leukocyte recruitment and play an important role in inflammation. E-selectin is a type of selectin expressed on activated endothelial cells and can be rapidly induced by inflammatory cytokines. The expression of E-selectin is precisely regulated and is closely related to the recruitment of white blood cells in the early stage of inflammation. Under normal physiological conditions, the expression level of E-selectin is low. In inflammation, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1 (IL-1) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) can increase the expression level of E-selectin by promoting the transcriptional activation. E-selectin is an important selectin that transports white blood cells to the inflammation site, and also plays a key role in the process of recruiting immune factors to target the inflammation site. E-selectin can be used to monitor the activity of inflammatory diseases and can be used as a potential biomarker for the research of various diseases.
