| Product Overview: | Recombinant Human CD7 (P09564) (Ala26-Pro180), fused with a C-terminal His-Avi tag, was expressed in HEK293 cells. |
| Description: | CD7, also known as Leu-9, is an approximately 40 kDa transmembrane protein that functions as a key co-stimulatory molecule on T cells and NK cells. Upon engagement by its ligand, SECTM1, it enhances the activation, proliferation, and integrin-mediated adhesion of these lymphocytes. CD7 is expressed on a range of cells including T cells, NK cells, and various progenitor cells, with its expression level on CD8+ T cells distinguishing naive/memory (CD7-bright) from effector (CD7-dim) populations. Beyond its co-stimulatory role, CD7 is also involved in Galectin-1-induced T cell apoptosis and facilitates the fusion of HIV-1 with target cells. |
